Current Information On Our Plans to Replace 145.130

The BRAG 145.13 repeater is currently experiencing technical difficulties, and the Executive Committee has determined that replacing the repeater is the most appropriate course of action.

The current repeater has been in operation continuously for over two decades. The controller is nearing the end of its lifespan, and we have encountered recurring issues with the power supply.

We are currently evaluating commercial-grade repeaters from Yeasu, Icom, and Bridgecom. Regardless of the vendor we select, the estimated cost will be approximately $3,000, which will encompass the repeater, controller, and power supply.

To secure the necessary funds for the replacement, we are soliciting donations.
Several individuals have already pledged financial support, offering a dollar-for-dollar match up to $1,500 for contributions made by others. This means that if you donate $10, the organization will match that amount, resulting in a total donation of $20.

We sincerely appreciate any donation, regardless of its size.

Donations can be made to BRAG via Jim (KB9LX), Hubie (W6HML), or Harry (W4HLJ).

As a note, the Hilton Head Club has offered a temporary solution in the form of a repeater to address the 145.13 frequency issue. We have accepted their offer and we will be installing it soon.

Summer Field Day!

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

It is time for our summer FIELD DAY Saturday 27 June at Huddle House Lot.

We are trying to make this year better than ever.  In order to be better organized, we are planning site setups in advance.  If you are planning to come and setup a table or any equipment please message me.  ðŸ˜Š

We will also need assistance setting up the BRAG trailer and equipment.  Jim will just be back from shoulder surgery.  If you can help setup BRAG please let me know.  We are hoping for a GOTA (GET ON THE AIR) station as well.  If you would like to help with that please let me know.
